From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Croxdale is a village in the civil parish of Croxdale and Hett, about 3 miles south of Durham City, in County Durham in England.
Croxdale Hall is actually closer to the village of Sunderland Bridge, a few hundred yards closer to Durham City than Croxdale. The Hall has for many centuries been the main residence of the Salvin family. It is a Grade I listed building. The hall has billeted troops during World War II and later served as a maternity home.
The village is situated on the A167 road, formerly part of the Great North Road.
