The Crowned Lemur (Eulemur coronatus) is a lemur that is 31-36 cm (12-15 inches)[citation needed] long and weighs 2 kg. Its tail is about 42-51 cm long.[citation needed] The Crowned Lemur is endemic to Madagascar. It mostly eats fruit. The population is estimated to 1000-10,000 individuals, most of which live on the Ankarana Plateau. It has a distinctive crown on its forehead.
This member of the Eulemur genus is primarily diurnal.
