Crossbarry

Crossbarry is a small rural village on the R589 in the Innishannon parish, about fourteen miles west of Cork City. There is a mill overlooking the local shop. The River Owenabue flows through the village. The West Cork Railway once ran through the village. The Crossbarry Ambush took place at the village during the War of Independence. Nearby is the Charlie Hurley Memorial.
