Croft is a small village in the district of Blaby in Leicestershire, England, off the old Fosse Way. Nearby places include Stoney Stanton, Broughton Astley, Huncote and Narborough. The Hinckley to Leicester railway line runs through the village. Croft railway station used to serve the village, but was closed as a result of the Beeching Axe.
The most interesting thing you will see at Croft is that Croft Hill being moved, As the quarry expands they are building a new hill to replace the old one.
The village is split into two sections, the old and the new.

The village has an industrial estate with offices and manufacturing companies. It also shares a portion of agricultural industry in the area.

Croft Cricket Club play at the Recreation Ground, Winston Avenue. Their website [1] has lots of statistics, history and photographs of old and new faces. 2007 was their centenary year. They run two Saturday teams, a Sunday team and junior teams.
Croft F.C. also play at the recreation ground on the adjacent football pitch.
Croft recently opened a new park called "Croft Fun Park".

Croft is a very old settlement, dating back to at least the time of King Offa of Mercia. The Mercian king held court in the village for two weeks in the eighth century. Croft used to be a popular tourist destination. Visitors could travel by train from many different locations. Croft has open spaces and a lake.

The Canadian politician and businessman Charles Avery Dunning was born in Croft.
