Magazin represented Croatia in the 1995 Contest, and Goran Karan would represent them in the next Contest. Doris had already been to Eurovision before, having represented Yugoslavia in 1986.

In Jerusalem, Doris received 118 points, finishing 4th. However, in September 1999, that total was reduced to 79, after the European Broadcasting Union ruled that the backing tape used male vocals, which is contrary to the Contest's rules. They would keep their 4th place, but the points total would be 79, when working out their five year average score to determine who would be relegated. This would then be rendered irrelevant when the EBU decided to relegate the countries that finished in the lower positions after 2001's Contest.
