[edit] are you the author of the book you are citing?

"Everitt, J.H.; Lonard, R.L., Little, C.R. (2007). Weeds in South Texas and Northern Mexico. Lubbock: Texas Tech University Press. "?

if so, you are violating WP:COI by adding these references. Anastrophe (talk) 05:22, 3 March 2008 (UTC)

further, i would ask that you delete these additions if you are the author. there are other violations of policy implicit in the conflict of interest - linkspamming, using WP for promotion/advertising, etc. Anastrophe (talk) 05:47, 3 March 2008 (UTC)

MY FAULT...Did not mean to violate "Conflict of Interest" - I am interested in getting the information out to people when there are little resources on some of the topics I have referenced. I have deleted a number of the links but would request some of the references remain, especially for the extremely underreported plant groups. Interested parties will not find info anywhere else. thank you, i appreciate that you meant well. it's critical that info that's in the 'references' portion of an article be directly relevant to a particular portion of the article. general references for the most part are not used on wikipedia. what i would recommend is that you discuss any matters that are relevant to a particular article on that article's talk page, while identifying that you have a conflict of interest in editing the actual article space. you may find editors willing to read your book who may find use for it as a reference within the article proper.
