[edit] User:Custodiet ipsos custodes re The Work Foundation
I am not sure why you have deleted the history of The Work Foundation as a copyright foundation. The history section was written as a reworded synopsis of the page on the work foundation's website. Thus is is not a copyright violation. Custodiet ipsos custodes talk 02:26, 6 August 2007 (UTC)
- response Please don't copy text from other web sites without permission. Minor changes to text does not avoid copyright infringement. It is still an obvious copy: for example, the sentence that begins "The Boys' Welfare Association widened its focus". Please contribute only material you wrote yourself or that has been explicitly contributed by its author. Thanks! Crimethinker 00:45, 9 August 2007 (UTC)

- I have addressed the example you gave and made some further changes. Given how many changes I have now made I would hardly call them minor. Please note that as of my last edit none of the sentences in the history start with same words of those of the original source. Also note that I have used four separate sources and combined their information. Indeed the history as it is currently constructed is now quite distinct.
-
- I assume that you do not suppose that a restating of the facts from the original sources using different words is a copyright infringement. Correct? Custodiet ipsos custodes talk 15:16, 9 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] User:TkerTimeSeeker re Canterbury School
Not quite sure why you keep deleting the mission and core values. The core values has been listed on this page for months. As it is now, it certainly quilifies as being as encyclopedic that it was before and is certainly more encyclopedic than lost os stuff that is in wikipedia. —Preceding unsigned comment added by TkerTimeSeeker (talk • contribs) 21:07, August 30, 2007 (UTC)
- response Chest puffing like "The school prides itself upon the community it creates" and "Canterbury's Catholic values can be summed up into five words" and "The school believes these values are critical" is promotional material, not encyclopedic facts. It doesn't matter how long advertising has been on Wikipedia for it to be removed by an editor. Please understand that Wikipedia is not the place to promote this school. [edit] User:DragonFire1024 re this edit
Although I don't think this is advertising, I did not revert. I thought it important or at least knowledgeable background on her achievements and how her "workouts" are successful. Not whining about it :) Just curious as to why you thought it was advertising is all. Sorry for the delayed reaction. DragonFire1024 11:05, 8 September 2007 (UTC)
- response I just don't see what's encyclopedic about gushing testimonials; their purpose is only to promote a product. Crimethinker 01:56, 4 October 2007 (UTC)
