[edit] Hi! :)
Hi Cricketgirl!
I just wanted to thank you again for your nice words on my Talk page; it was very heartening. :) When all these enzymes have quieted down for me, maybe we could do a physics article or two together? There are some very nice people who like to help out with those kinds of articles, once you get them going; it's a lot like stone soup, and very fun when everyone's pitching in together. :) But it's OK if you had other things you wanted to attend to; I'm sure you must be busy at school! This morning, I also foolishly volunteered to improve the Universe, which seems beyond my little powers and will likely occupy me for some time. Wishing you warm and well with your studies, Willow (talk) 19:23, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] League of Copyeditors roll call
Greetings from the League of Copyeditors. Your name is listed on our members page, but we are unsure how many of the people listed there are still active contributors to the League's activities. If you are still interested in participating in the work of the League, please follow the instructions at the members page to add your name to the active members list. Once you have done that, you might want to familiarise yourself with the new requests system, which has replaced the old /proofreading subpage. As the old system is now deprecated, the main efforts of the League should be to clear the substantial backlog which still exists there. The League's services are in as high demand as ever, as evinced by the increasing backlog on our requests pages, both old and new. While FA and GA reviewers regularly praise the League's contributions to reviewed articles, we remain perennially understaffed. Fulfilling requests to polish the prose of Wikipedia's highest-profile articles is a way that editors can make a very noticeable difference to the appearance of the encyclopedia. On behalf of the League, if you do consider yourself to have left, I hope you will consider rejoining; if you consider yourself inactive, I hope you will consider returning to respond to just one request per week, or as many as you can manage. Merry Christmas and happy editing, The League of Copyeditors. |

[edit] Briefly back at translation work
I only wish my "boredom and desperate procrastination" could be as productive as yours! Thanks for your work!
If you have enough time to finish translating the Wiener Staatsoper I think it will all be worthwhile. I guess you have had doubts about the information about different kinds of stone etc., however I think we can use this if the article is eventually reorganized to separate out the architectural stuff. It may be that the German article is itself poorly structured, but I think the best thing is to simply carry on with the translation and then edit it (which I can do) after it's complete. Does that sound reasonable? Best wishes. P.S. I was at the Wiener Staatsoper myself in December. -- Kleinzach (talk) 01:12, 18 March 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for your message and work on the Wiener Staatsoper. It's a major article so it's a great help to get the German translated. Shall I remove the under construction sign? --Kleinzach (talk) 14:07, 20 March 2008 (UTC)
- Just another note of appreciation for the Viennese theatres - very useful because so many articles link to them. I've just edited Carltheater and am about to look at the others. Hope all is going well for you. --Kleinzach (talk) 05:13, 24 March 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for your note. I think it works out well if you concentrate on translating and then I do the editing. I think it's faster and simpler that way. I was always taught as an editor to only do one thing at a time . . . "Thanks for expanding Coccia" was an old edit summary left for someone who was working on an article about an Italian composer. I have some kind of 'predictive' editing switched on so I guess the software assumed I was talking to the other person. Actually I left another edit summary to explain . . . Hope you are enjoying Oxford and your studies. --Kleinzach (talk) 12:32, 24 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Congratulation
I feel the urge to congratulate you for what you did regarding Vienna State Opera. Your great work truly deserves my deepest admiration. Translating can be soooo difficult and tedious (at least that's what I think)... Many thanks and best wishes (and I hope you'll be back very soon) --Catgut (talk) 01:15, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for your nice reply! Wish you the best for your degree. Please leave a note on my talk page when you're back. Btw, your skills don't surprise me. After all, you're Australian, and Australia is the clever country... (One of my best friends is from Australia, and she introduced me to this great term! I love it, and I love to use it!). --Catgut (talk) 23:37, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Request regarding Hilary Duff article
I hope u remember me....I'm a fellow member of LoCE. I've been working on Hilary Duff article since 4-5 months and i have managed to get it to GA level after lot of changes (copyediting, content addition etc). In January i listed the article for peer review and no major issues were raised. So i listed it for FAC in February. But it failed its FAC soon after it was listed. See Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/Hilary Duff/archive1. Since then i have made some changes and listed it at WP:LOCE/R also. Although i am a member of LoCE and one of the main contributors to the article, it has been suggested that i let a fresh pair of eyes go thru it so that any prose issues left unaddressed might be corrected. I would be grateful, if u could take a look at the article and copyedit it. I believe the article wont take too much time.... I am pushing for a FA status soon...so pls bear this in mind...thanx Gprince007 (talk) 13:36, 23 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Wagner singers
Yes - actually I compiled the lists of Wagner singers. Some of them are well covered in Grove, but it's great if you like to translate the German articles. I just feel a bit guilty about distracting you from other things! Best.--Kleinzach (talk) 11:01, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Thanks for Huppert!
Roughly speaking, the translation is all done. For over a year, the German article has been mature and this article had been a requested redlink. Now finally the article is available in English as well. Thanks for your help! JackSchmidt (talk) 20:09, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Speedy Deletion Tag
You recently tagged Flag Art Exhibition in Gifu with {{db-inc}}. I'm opposed to the tagging because I'm still working on the article, but I'm more curious as to why you used the tag you did. It's not about a corporation, organization, etc. It's about an art exhibition. Could you please explain the choice? Thanks. Douggers (talk) 11:59, 28 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Abt Durga Nanda Jha
I think things have been cleared about the article. The person under consideration had been celebrated as a martyr by Nepali Congress party even during the Shah era. I recently checked the list of martyrs but his name was not there (the part has been deleted from article anyhow). He is one of the most influencial people to die of political cause. A lot of literature about him is present in Nepali. Labelling him as an assasin might be a something like calling Churchill a murdurer for defending Britain. He may not be a martyr for you but he is definitely not an assasin for most of the people of Republic of Nepal. So, lets write the article along the midline till Nepal formally declares him a martyr.--Eukesh (talk) 17:12, 6 June 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Invitation
The MILHIST Project has set up a logistics departement that also handles copyediting of our articles because of the large backlog in the League. I inform you in case you might want to help. Wandalstouring (talk) 10:19, 8 June 2008 (UTC)
