Cribbswh Dear Pavel, The sites that I listed were relevent to the topics and are not commercial. They all contain valuable, pertinent data for the state or topic. I apologize for misunderstanding the rules. Sincerely, cribbswh

These links were posted into dozens of articles. That makes them spam by definition. Pavel Vozenilek 01:54, 11 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Cribbswh For this I apologize. I was browsing for relevent topics to add the links to. My intention was not to spam. I am wanting to promote family research and genealogy, not commercialism. This was a lot of work to put each individual state page link! Each state has data files that are free to use and volunteers are adding data to them continually so that the data libraries will be a valuable asset for research. Sincerely, cribbswh

[edit] Welcome

Hello, welcome to Wikipedia. Here are some useful links in case you haven't already found them;

Given the comments made about you by several established editors, you should read Wikipedia:External links. Many people think that what you are doing amounts to spam. Wikipedia is not a web directory.

[edit] Genealogy

Hi, I saw you've been adding material giving state resources for genealogivcal research, and that you have been receiving some resistance from other editors. May I suggest that you create an article with all the info in one place? Something like Genealogical research. Then you could add links to it from various state articles. I think that approach would make the info available in a logical format without ruffling anyone's fur. Thanks for your contributions to Wikipedia. Cheers, -Willmcw 23:16, Mar 11, 2005 (UTC)

Cribbswh 15:34, 12 Mar 2005 (UTC)Thanks. I appreciate the input. I have been examining the genealogy articles to see if there were any expansions that I could make to add value. I will see about your suggestion as well. Thanks again.
I don't think that a link to Texas search records in Vital record is apporpriate. Wikipedia isn't just for Texans. As Henrygb said above, it's looking something like spam. Also, please sign at the end of your comments; signing at the start just confuses people. Veinor (talk to me) 17:58, 11 April 2007 (UTC)
