[edit] Plot summary
In the final season episode, Detectives Logan and Barek investigate the murder of a suburban couple found bludgeoned to death.
At first, Logan and Barek deep inside the couple's son, a troubled young man who struggles with drug addiction, thinking he killed his parents for their cash staff. But when a local investigator pressures the kid into a confession, the detectives discover a conflict of interest. They are convinced the youngster is innocent, even though he confesses to the crime. Eventually, another suspect with close business ties to the victims emerges, prompting Deakins to drop the case. After that, he ponders his own future with the Major Case Squad.

In this episode, Captain Deakins decided to retire from service rather than battle a conspiracy to frame him instigated by a former police officer, arrested for killing his girlfriend (*), who wields a significant local influence and planted an evidence implicating Deakins in a false corruption charge.
