[edit] Usage
This template is designed to be a more flexible version of Template:Infobox Cricketer that gives the user the choice of how many (0, 2 or 4) and which sets of statistics they want to display for a cricketer.
[edit] Groups & Headings
Parameters Group 1 and Group 2 determine how many sets of statistics are shown. They must be set to either show or hide. Each "Group" contains 2 sets, so setting one to "show" will produce 2 sets, setting both to "show" will produce 4. Both can be set to "hide" - this produces a compact infobox with only basic information. Each group can be named, eg if one group displays Test and ODI statistics, it could be named "International". This is set using the relevant G1 title or G2 title parameter.
Within each "Group" there are 2 "Headings". These describe the type of match that the statistics in the column apply to. (In Template:Infobox Cricketer, the "Headings" are Tests and ODIs). The heading above the column is set using the Heading1 and Heading2 parameters for Group 1, and the Heading3 and Heading4 parameters for Group 2. Below each heading, the statistics are given using H1 matches, H1 runs, etc for each of H1, H2, H3, H4 relating to the Heading.
[edit] Overs or Balls
The template gives the option of choosing to display "overs" or "balls" in the bowling figures of each Group. This is done by setting G1 oversORballs or G2 oversORballs to what you want to be displayed before "bowled:" in the row. For balls, use [[Delivery (cricket)|Balls]] (which produces Balls), for overs, use [[Over (cricket)|Overs]] (which produces Overs).
[edit] Debut/Last
At the bottom of the template, the date of the cricketer's debut and last major matches can be noted. The type of match (Test, ODI, First-class, etc) is set by debut-last cat. It must be the same for both debut and last match. The dates of these matches are set by using debut date, debut year, last date and last year. If the player is still active, either use – or the date of the last match they played before the statistics were updated. The parameters date and year show when the statistics were last updated. (This was originally controlled by Template: Switch, to only show Last if the player has retired, and only show Updated if the player is current - but the template is being phased out under WP:AUM).
