the CRASH anti-gang unit (and their alleged corruption)
Watts riots and 1992 riots
South Central LA
Skid Row
crime in other cities in Greater LA area (if you deem it fit)

this is stupid.los angeles murders have only decreased.you put the murders from the entire los angeles county in 2006 compared to the murders in the city ALONE.trying to make it seem like murders increased. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.149.17.245 (talk) 00:34, 16 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Outline for improvment

Okay, I have no background knowledge on this subj., but I can help, because this article is in terrible shape. The first problem with the info on this page is the way it's organized and presented, It's like each section is a spicific riot, with subtle details about the situation as a whole interwoven.To make it good, let's
1 organize the article by years/periods
and subdivide each section further into
a.major trends,
b.very major events, and
c.the police's reaction to stuff, etc.
