[edit] Plot summary

In this episode, Detectives Goren and Eames investigate the case of a young woman murdered during an emergency phone call to the operator. Goren and Eames soon realise the killer is clearly demonstrating the same modus operandi used by B.B.J. (Bodies By Jake), a notorious serial killer from the past, whose spree began 16 years ago and then abruptly halted. Their investigation leads them to a recently released parolee who seems too good to be true. When they learn that there are similar killings going much further back, Goren and Eames soon focus their attention on a new suspect, and soon realise that even though he is not guilty, or at least not the one responsible for the initial slayings. When they learn that there are similar killings going much further back, the detectives think their prime suspect could not be guilty, but nevertheless holds the key to catching the real culprit.
