1921 - Charlie Macartney scores 345 runs in four hours as the Australians total 608 for seven on the first day of the match against Nottinghamshire at Trent Bridge. The score remained for 73 years as the highest number of runs hit by a cricketer in one day – it was beaten by Brian Lara's 380 runs on his way to the highest first-class score of 501 not out.
1983 - India wins the 1983 Cricket World Cup played at Lord's London, beating the West Indies in the final.

1932 - Played in their first Test match against England at Lord's becoming the sixth Test nation.
