Holly was intended to be a series regular, but the character was not well received by test audiences; she did not survive her shooting, and Sara Sidle was introduced instead.[1] When Warrick Brown left her alone at a crime scene in the pilot episode, she was shot when the suspect returned to the scene. Her mother is Lieutenant Jane Gribbs in traffic.
Michael Keppler (Season 7) Liev Schreiber Deceased "Sweet Jane" "Law of Gravity"
Worked with the CSI team of Las Vegas on the graveyard shift, filling in for Gil Grissom who was on a four week sabbatical. He shot and killed a man accused of raping a girl in Philadelphia and has since moved away. Just as his past was figured out, he was killed in the line of duty while trying to protect Catherine Willows.
Ronnie Lake (Season 8) Jessica Lucas Alive "Go To Hell" Current
Brought in during season 8 to be the partner of Sara Sidle when she transfered to swing shift. She is very talkative and asks a lot of questions. In the episode "Who and What" she attempts to get an abused woman into a shelter. When Sara resigns in "Goodbye and Good Luck", she leaves a note in Ronnie's locker wishing her good luck.

Ecklie started as a CSI and became the Day Shift Supervisor by Season 1. He comes off most of the time as an antagonist such as when he tried to put Nick Stokes away for murder. In Season 5, he was elected the Crime Lab Assistant Director in "Formalities". He broke up the team in "Mea Culpa" temporarily, but at the end of "Grave Danger Part Two", he allowed the team to reunite in Season 6.
Wendy Simms (Seasons 6-) Liz Vassey Alive "Secrets and Flies" Current
The DNA technician from Season 6 onwards, after the departure of Mia Dickerson in season 5. She transfered from California and enjoys giving hugs to her co-workers. She once accepted a small roll in a horror movie as revealed in "The Chick Chop Flick Shop". She has a flirtacious relationship with trace technician David Hodges, who describes her as being a control freak when it comes to group work; "Lab Rats".
Henry Andrews (Seasons 5-) Jon Wellner Alive "Iced" Current
A toxicology technician from season 5 onwards. He once told Greg Sanders how he admired him. As revealed in "Lab Rats", Henry lived in Pennsylvania. He is a neurotic, intelligent, friendly person who often ends up serving as a comic relief. He has admitted to being very afraid of Jim Brass.
Bobby Dawson (Seasons 1-) Gerald McCullough Alive "Cool Change" Current
A firearms and Ballistics expert since the second episode. He was a frequent suspect of murder in David Hodges's board game as seen in the episode "You Kill Me".
Mandy Webster (Seasons 1-) Sheeri Rappaport Alive "Anonymous" Current
Mandy is the current night shift fingerprints technician. She revealed in the episode "Leapin' Lizards" that she once dated a guy whom owned a ceremonial sword. She is a very quiet person but with a quirky, friendly personality hidden underneath.
Archie Johnson (Seasons 2-) Archie Kao Alive "Chaos Theory" Current
The lab's A/V technician since Season 2. He enjoys surfing as seen in "Lab Rats" and is a fan of Star Trek as told in "Random Acts of Violence". In Season 8, Archie took over as the Questioned Documents technician, claiming it was a good pay raise; "Go To Hell".
David Phillips (Seasons 1-) David Berman Alive "Friends & Lovers" Current
The assistant to the Medical Examiner, Dr. Albert Robbins since Season 1. He once had a crush on Sara Sidle. He was recently married and his current wife loves hearing about his jobs but is trying to change his image.
Judy Tremont (Seasons 3-) Victoria Prescott Alive "Blood Lust" Current
A new secretary of the crime lab in Season 3 onwards. She was used as an experiment in "Blood Lust" to represent a lesser person trying to drag a body.
Mia Dickerson (Season 5) Aisha Tyler Alive "Harvest" "Grave Danger Part Two"
With Greg Sanders being transfered into the field in Season 5, Mia took over the DNA lab. Many lab techs had a crush on her, most noteably David Hodges. She has a compulsive personality, once telling Greg that she refuses to eat food prepared by others because people cook while they talk and the food ends up being tainted with DNA.
Jacqui Franco (Seasons 3-5) Romy Rosemont Alive ""The Execution of Catherine Willows"" "4 x 4"
Fingerprint technician for 14 episodes from season 2 to 5. She used to work the day shift before getting transfered. She apparently knows Catherine Willows and her daughter outside of work.
Ronnie Litre (Seasons 2-5) Eric Stonestreet Alive "$35K O.B.O." "Unbearable"
The questioned documents technician from seasons 1-5, who is fascinated by the technology that he uses. He does not know how many aces are in a deck of cards as seen in "Revenge is Best Served Cold".
Charlotte Meridian (Seasons 1-2) Susan Gibney Alive "Pilot" "And Then There Were None"
A fingerprint technician in the pilot episode, Charlotte once dated Gil Grissom, but the occasion turned sour when Grissom discovered that Charlotte did not share his passion for Pink Floyd.
Dr. Jenna Williams (Season 1) Judith Scott Alive "Cool Change" "I-15 Murders"
A medical examiner that appeared before Dr. Albert Robbins.

Handwriting Analyst who analyzed the writing on the bathroom stalls in "I-15 Murders". He appeared again in the Season 6 episode "Pirates of the Third Reich".

A forensic expert in bones and facial reconstruction that was an early love interest for Gil Grissom. The two went out on a date but Teri got fed up with Grissom always cancelling for a job. On her last episode it was revealed that she got married.

A politicking bureaucrat, it is McKeen who orchestrates the elaborate "reverse forensics" deception in season 7 (episode 13, "Redrum"). Later turns out to have links to organized crime. To cover his tracks, he shoots Warrick Brown inside his car in the episode "For Gedda" to prevent himself from being tied to the crimes.
Sherif Rory Atwater (Seasons 4-5) Xander Berkeley Alive "Invisible Evidence" "Formalities"
The sheriff of the LVPD. In "Grissom Versus The Volcano" he was nearly killed in a car bombing.
Detective Sergeant Ray O'Riley (Seasons 1-4) Skipp O'Brien Alive "Pilot" "Homebodies"
A detective who does not understand the science of forensics.
Detective Vartann (Seasons 4-6) Alex Carter Alive "Grissom Versus the Volcano" "Bang-Bang"
A former recurring homicide detective.
Detective Cyrus Lockwood (Seasons 2-3) Jeffrey D. Sams Deceased "Primum Non Nocere" "Inside the Box"
Formerly a homicide detective during season 2 and 3 before the episode "Inside the Box" where he was shot by a sniper in the middle of a bank robbery. He removed his gun to try and stop the robbers and was shot in the back.
Detective Sam Vega (Seasons 1-8) Geoffrey Rivas Alive "Too Tough to Die" "Lying Down With Dogs"
A former member of the police's gang unit. He has a son whom owns comic book collectables.
Detective Chris Cavaliere (Seasons 4-6) Jose Zuniga Alive "Getting Off" "A Bullet Runs Through It, Part Two"
A rough detective who once went so far as to scare a child into confession. He sometimes takes pictures of bizarrely murdered people for a scrap book.
Sheriff Brian Mobley (Seasons 1-2) Glenn Morshower Alive "Blood Drops" "Overload"
The sheriff was very politically motivated when in office, and would prefer that Grissom behave more like his day-time counterpart, Conrad Ecklie, who knows how to play politics ("Unfriendly Skies"). Portia Richmond ("Table Stakes") helped the Sheriff get elected, and he wanted to close her case quickly, much to Grissom's annoyance.
Officer Mitchell (Seasons 6-) Larry Mitchell Alive "Room Service" Current
While he's appeared in many episodes, Officer Mitchell has only had one major line. When CSI team is investigated regarding allegations of racism following a shoot-out with a Hispanic street gang ("A Bullet Runs Through It, Part 1"), Mitchell arrives at the scene of the shootout in progress and says sardonically to an injured gang member who is begging for help, "I don't speak Spanish."
