[edit] History
The event originated from the Silver Lake Rally, a club event held in Canada during the 1960's. The first rally was held in 1973, and the following year was made part of the WRC calendar, to take place two weeks after the 1974 Press-on-Regardless Rally in America. The rally was deemed well run but due to financial problems the rally disappeared, seemingly never to return.
[edit] Change of location
In 1977 the Canadian rally moved to Quebec, and held a round of the WRC in that very year. It continued for another two years until it simply disappeared off the calendar after the 1979 edition.
