Cristiana Frixione (born February 20, 1984 in Managua, Nicaragua) is a Nicaraguan beauty queen. Frixione was crowned Miss Nicaragua 2006, which was held in the Rubén Darío National Theater in Managua.[1] She also represented Nicaragua at the Miss Universe 2006 pageant, Frixione was also crowned World Miss University in 2006.

Cristiana was born in Managua, Nicaragua. Frixione's family consists of her mother, father, two older sisters, and a brother who passed away in 2002, she is the youngest.[2] Frixione is of Italian decent, her great-grandfather was from Genova, Italy. She attended La Universidad Americana and graduated in Business Administration with cum laude honors.[3] Frixione, before being crowned, worked as a teacher and taught English to grade school children. She loves sports and loves to play soccer and basketball, and was even given an offer to become a professional boxer.[4] She is a passionate reader and also enjoys reading successful biographies.[2]

In an interview with El Nuevo Diario she says that apart from the love of playing sports she enjoys reading anything written by Isabel Allende and listening to music,[5] she likes a little of everything, especially Shakira. Other hobbies she enjoys include singing, dancing, and modeling. Frixiones favorite movie is La vida es bella (Life is Beautiful), her favorite color is white, Gallopinto and Güirilas with cheese is her favorite food. She has also mentioned her favorite website is BacanalNica.com.[5]

Frixione was crowned "Reina del Carnaval" in 2004 at the annual "Alegria por la Vida" Carnaval held in Managua, Nicaragua.[6]

[edit] Miss Nicaragua

Cristiana Frixione was named Miss Nicaragua 2006 and she also received the Best Hair, Best Face, Best Figure and Best Interview awards. Cristiana was awarded $1,800 along with a car, courtesy of INTUR.[7]

Frixione was a major favorite during the 2 weeks of competition. She did not place among the pageant's Top 10 semifinalists, however, she was featured prominently during the telecast.

In 2006 she was crowned World Miss University Grand Prix Winner.[8]

In 2007 Frixione competed at the Miss Italia nel Mondo in Italy, a pageant for woman worldwide who are of Italian decent. Frixione was 1st runner up.

Frixione will represent Nicaragua at the Miss World 2007 contest in Sanya, China, December 1st.
