Cristian Dorel Scutaru (born April 13, 1987 in Reşiţa) is a Romanian football player, currently under contract at FCU Politehnica Timişoara. His former coach, Ioan Sdrobiş, said the young and solid defender is poised to become the next Chivu, whom he had also trained while still a youngster. After appearing a number of times at CFR Timişoara, Poli's "B" team, Scutaru was promoted by Hagi and made his debut during the Divizia A 2005/2006 season, against his former team Jiul Petroşani.
