Cristian Brocchi (born 30 January 1976, Milan) is an Italian footballer, who currently plays for A.C. Milan.

Early career

Starting his career at his native club A.C. Milan youth system, he was loaned to Pro Sesto and Lumezzane in early years.

Hellas Verona

In 1998, Brocchi was sold to Hellas Verona in Serie B. Brocchi followed the club promoted to Serie A.

Internazionale

After a year in the top-division, Internazionale signed him in 2000.

In the summer of 2001, A.C. Milan re-signed him in exchange of Andrés Guglielminpietro, who went to Inter. In AC Milan, Brocchi had to compete with Fernando Redondo, Gennaro Gattuso, Andrea Pirlo, Clarence Seedorf, etc. He only made not more than 15 appearances a year, and often as a sub. His contact was once renewed in September 2003.[1]

Fiorentina

Brocchi was loaned to ACF Fiorentina in July 2005, with a view to a permanent deal at the end of the season[2] but at the end of 2005-06, he returned to A.C. Milan, partly due to both club faced problem to find new recruitment due to 2006 Italian football scandal.

Third Spell in Milan

Brocchi played his career high for Milan, made 29 Serie A appearances in 2006-07 seaon. Although Emerson arrived in the next season, Brocchi also made 24 appearances, 10 as starter, effectively became the the choice replacement of the midfields.

He made his international debut for the Italy national football team in a friendly against Turkey on 15 November 2006.

Brocchi has other interests outside of football, he opened a cafe in Milan along with ex-AC Milan teammate Christian Abbiati, and started his own clothing brand (Baci & Abbracci) with close friend and footballer Christian Vieri and model Alena_Šeredova. The brand is becoming very popular in Italy at the moment.
