Cris Rogers

Christopher "Cris" Rogers (born Feb 4, 1979) is the lead pastor of Soul Survivor Harrow Church located in London. Rogers and his wife, Beki, have two Children and live in Harrow, London. Rogers was born in Pontefract, West Yorkshire and attended Freestone High Normanton.

Cris Rogers attended Freestone High School where he gained 10 GCSE’s. In 1996, he went on to study for a B-Tec in Art at Leeds Art College. In 2000, he received his bachelor’s degree in Theology from Trinity College, Bristol.

In 2004, Rogers went on to study for his Masters in Theology from King's College London.

After his Bachelor’s degree, Rogers went on to establish and lead a Christian Youth Congregation called The Gathering in Boldmere, Birmingham. Whilst leading the youth congregation, Rogers pioneered several creative ministry opportunities including a Skate park ministry under the leadership of the then Vicar Peter Howell-Jones.

In 2004 Rogers moved to become lead pastor of Soul Survivor Church Harrow.

Rogers was ordained deacon by the Bishop of London Richard John Carew to the Anglican Church on 30th of June 2007, as an O.P.M (Ordained pioneer ministry). Rogers is one of the first to be ordained to the role which is seen as a breakthrough in creative leadership within the Church of England.

Cris Rogers has been a featured speaker at Spring Harvest Christian Easter Conference where he has been involved in Theological teaching for young adults. Rogers is also involved in teaching on a local London based theology course called Faith. Rogers is also a monthly theology writer for YouthWork Magazine writing for youth workers to understand the background to the books of the Bible.

Rogers’ Naked Christianity UK wide speaking tour launched in 2004 at Grosvenor Church Barnstable was perfect time to publish his first book. In January 2004, Kevin Mayhew Publishing published Roger's first book, Naked Christianity: Helping young people grasp issues of faith.

Archbishop Dr John Sentamu said of Rogers and his book. "If you want to see a good example of Evangelism and Ministry to young people, go and see what Cris Rogers is doing at ‘The Gathering’ Youth Congregation Birmingham. If you cannot get to Birmingham, read this book. It is full of good sense and stimulating stories and creative ideas. (...) If you want a fantastic starting point with the Christian faith, this is the book to read."[citation needed]

His second book titled “Am I a freak” too published by Kevin Mayhew was released in 2005.

In Dec 2004 Rogers was also been involved with Teachers TV when he was interviewed about how to communicate affectively in the RE class room while using one of Teachers TV’s discussion resources as an example.
