Crinium latifolium is a rosette like herb arises from an underground bulb. It is a stout perennial herb of about 2 m height. Leaves are long, linear and ligulate type. Flowers white in color and arranged in umbel.
Bulb and leaves of crinium is useful in herbal medicines. It is highly useful in treatment of serious health conditions like prostatitis adenoma benign prostrate enlargement, uterine fibroids etc. It is used to enhance cell-mediated immunity and act as effective T- lymphocyte activator. It also used in case of hypoxia, inflammation, detoxification, tissue regeneration, and hormone balancing. Leaf juice is used as earache, rheumatic pain, and sprain. Bulbs are used to produce vomiting.
