Cries Of the Past is the second album written and performed by the Christian metalcore band Underoath. The album was released on July 4, 2000 through Takehold Records. Only 2,000 copies of the album were pressed, and it is currently out of print. The second and third song are out of order from the list on the jacket, with "Giving Up Hurts the Most" as the actual second track.

  • The entire album centers around the loss of Dallas Taylor's early girlfriend, who died in a car accident, and how he was able to overcome such loss by turning to God.
  • Contrary to popular belief, Corey Steger did not perform the low growl parts. Dallas Taylor performed all of the screaming, while Corey did background vocals.
  • "And I Dreamt of You" is Underoath's longest recorded song, clocking in at 11 minutes and 23 seconds.
