[edit] Plot summary
In this episode, Detectives Goren and Eames investigate the mysterious murder of a female neurologist found drowned and poisoned in a pool.
At first, Goren and Eames learn the victim was due to appear in court as an expert witness in a euthanasia case. They also find she was performing research on a woman who has been in a persistent vegetative state for six long years. Further evidence leads them to suspect of the comatose woman's son, her husband, and the victim's young assistant.
As detectives close in, they discover an embezzled trust fund and the fact that the victim was experimenting with communicating with such vegetative patients.
