[edit] Plot summary
In this episode, Detectives Goren and Eames are investigating the murder of a girl college student who worked as a card counter at poker clubs.
The investigation leads Goren and Eames to a group of computer nerds who are close friends of the victim, but later they discover a sophisticated computer gambling system which is used on horse racing to create profitable bets by excluding horses from a field of runners.
Then, the detectives soon find their own workstations were hit by the leader of the group, a fearless man with no limits on the bets and other scams. The detectives focus their attention on the man, making him a prime suspect. The case takes a major turn when Goren confronts him during an interrogation.
