[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Queeniepic.jpg
Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Queeniepic.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. After Midnight 0001 23:27, 17 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Replaceable fair use Image:Shooting_Stars_Quiz_Show_cast.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Shooting_Stars_Quiz_Show_cast.jpg. I noticed the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
- On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, fair use images which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if not used in an article), per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Calliopejen1 12:36, 16 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] The Mimi thing
I already found it - I just want to know if she knows (Sherlock-stylee). I will delete your comment so she doesn't get wind of what I'm up to. --andreasegde 17:44, 19 October 2007 (UTC)
Shit, I just got an e-mail back from the crematorium that says they nothing about Mimi Smith. A sock-puppet? --andreasegde 15:02, 1 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Life or death?
One is interested to know if the Mighty Crestville has fallen in love, which would explain his reticence on these pages. (I know about this stuff - having fallen down that manhole many times...) If he has, I wish the very bestest of the bestest to him, and I hope his Standard will never fail to rise, as the actress said to the bishop at the bus stop. --andreasegde 20:50, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
- reticence:
- 1. disposed to be silent or not to speak freely; reserved.
- 2. reluctant or restrained. --andreasegde 18:39, 5 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Sunscreen
Yeah I like that Sir Joseph, witty yet at the same time quite profound. Don't forget yours you'll need it in Inja, very hot according to some of the chaps in the Officers Mess dontcha know! Have a good time, take care Pal, Vera, Chuck & Dave 19:56, 7 November 2007 (UTC)
- I liked the bit from the cited article that said: "Don't be reckless with other people's hearts. Don't put up with people who are reckless with yours." With which I am in full agreement with, by Jove. --andreasegde 18:53, 10 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Nursiemain.jpg
Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Nursiemain.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
[edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:Ronnie Barker.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:Ronnie Barker.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot (talk) 20:28, 15 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] The talent
I miss this: "For the record, I had no hand in her death (this is unofficial as the inquest is on-going, but you can take my word for it. It was nowhere near the magnificantly crafted regency-era candlestick at the time. I was in the billiard room with Professor Plum and the rope). She used to bring us rhubarb". [edit] who the f*** is alice
Dear Joe,
I am a mad scientist living in Dublin. I am trying to track down who wrote the line in the Smokie article on Wikipedia that says that the 'Who the fuck is Alice' thing started in Ireland. Was it yourself? The actual line goes as follows:
< The band had noticed that, whilst touring in Ireland, whenever they sang the main line "For 24 years/I've been living next door to Alice" the audience would shout "Who the fuck is Alice?". >
I am doing some research on Irish audiences, so would love to know if whoever wrote this line actually talked to the band? Or if not, how they knew that this phenomenon started in Ireland? You can find recordings of Who the fuck is Alice from all around the globe on Youtube, and everyone may have their own idea of where it started. Nevertheless, it chimes with a stereotype about Irish audiences, and the whole 'Live in Dublin' industry.
Smokie practically live in Ireland anyway, - still. So it would be hardly surprising if the response started here. There is an Irish band called 'Who's Eddie' who used to cover the song, and a friend of mine remembers the audience response when they did it from the mid to late 80s.
I don't know whether this will mean anything to you, and if not, please just send me a quick line saying you had nothing to do with it. But if you did write that line, do you know WHEN the band first heard the response? And did it start as a heckle?
Cheers, Good luck with your work, I have published an academic paper on the Beatles and the Girl-groups, in case that would interest you for your Beatles project,
Barbara

[edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:HolyGrail036.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:HolyGrail036.jpg.
Thank you. BetacommandBot (talk) 19:39, 17 February 2008 (UTC)
