[edit] Importance
Hold on there, cowboy (or cowbot), just started this article! I'll focus on demonstrating importance. Clippership (talk) 16:22, 6 January 2008 (UTC)
- You should focus on reliable, third-party sources such as newspaper articles. Also, please note that the section on the association is secondary if the article is about the conference, so you may establish the notability of the association and not of the conference, rename the article to the association and leave the conference as one of the topics, if you prefer. --Raistlin (talk) 16:36, 6 January 2008 (UTC)
- Hmm the association really seems to be focussed around the conference, so I chose to name it for the conference rather than CREA Italia. There definitely is an argument for the other way around. Clippership (talk) 17:07, 6 January 2008 (UTC)
Here's what I found on notability: "Organizations are usually notable if the scope of activities are national or international in scale and information can be verified by sources that are reliable and independent of the organization." (from here). Although CREA Italia is national, CREA Conference itself is decidedly international (three languages, over 20 countries!) so that's another reason to focus on the conference.
Reliable sources: I've provided a bunch of third-party sources, including websites and blogs created by other associations and people. Books newspapers magazines etc. will take longer to round up but I can work on it.
I'm not associated with CREA Italia but have been attending and presenting at the conference for several years. I don't get paid, in fact I pay a significant amount of money to go there, including registration fees! I believe it is the only place outside of North America where one can be trained in the Creative Problem Solving Process but haven't written it because it's hard to find a reliable reference for the absence of something ;-)
Thank you kindly for your attention. I'd welcome any further advice you have for me on how to make this better. Clippership (talk) 17:07, 6 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Name of article
Further research has revealed that "CREA" stands for "Creativity European Association", which to my mind is a much more informative article title, so I'm going to move it.Clippership (talk) 17:23, 6 January 2008 (UTC)
