Talk:Creative director
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Can we have a description of what a creative director does/is responsible for in comparison to CEO, CTO, CFO's etc -- Mariocki 15:25, 15 Apr 2005 (UTC)
Hi, Creative director's function is different than the kinds of CEO and such because he/she is not responsible for administrative functions of a company. We need to further differentiate the category for the new and emerging fields such as media channel, Visual FX, CGI, Gaming, Web based solutions and entertainment etc. These are all important to basically understand what the term 'creative director ' mean in each job specification ( danraz)
I've added a mention of Chief Creative Officer here because, from what I gather, it's a very similar position. Chief Creative Officer now redirects here too. --Mrwojo 00:33, 13 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Move to Creative director
creative director is not a proper noun unless speaking specifically about a person. Remove capitalization per WP:MOS Mhoskins 16:33, 11 October 2006 (UTC)
Support as per nom. -- Beardo 14:52, 15 October 2006 (UTC)
Agree: In a organization, a creative director may be a position without the title. I also routed creative direction and creative license to this page. Oicumayberight 19:59, 15 October 2006 (UTC)
Support - of course. What is there to discuss? A simple matter of Wikipedia house style. Gnusmas 22:32, 16 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Distinguished Creative Directors
This section appears to be being used by people to toot their own horn. William Tucker of NetPlus Marketing only yields one Google hit. I don't think we should have anyone listed who doesn't get at least 1000 hits when you google there name. I don't think we should list any names that don't have wikipedia pages to link. What do you think? Oicumayberight 18:03, 16 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Qualifications
The qualification section is much more informative with the edit as of 14:00, 26 October 2006 by 203.115.119.124. However, I wonder if it could say the same things with more neutral wording. I know it will seem like a fair analysis to most right-brain types, but the left-brain types may think it's a little to opinionated. What do you think? Oicumayberight 17:09, 26 October 2006 (UTC)
I cleaned up the section with grammar checking, rewording, subdividing and rearranging. The section is still lacking references from anyone who has read books on the subject. Oicumayberight 00:14, 29 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] creative directors in the fashion industry
This article doesn't really cover what the role of a creative director is in the fashion industry. I think it is quite different from what is described for media & advertising and it would help if it were included. Calliopejen1 (talk) 17:08, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
