Cretan script

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Cretan script was an ancient script of Bronze Age Minoan Crete that passed several stages in its development. The first stage entailed Cretan hieroglyphs, the second stage entailed Linear A (probably including Trojan script), and the final stage entailed Linear B. Another form of script derived from the same period witnessed by the Phaistos Disc and the Arkalokhori Axe seems to be irrelevant to the above scripts. Descendants of the Cretan script are the Cypro-Minoan script and the Cypriot script.
