[edit] Company History
Cretan Airlines was founded in 1992 but did not begin operations until April 1993. The aircraft of choice was the Airbus A320 and the main market was flying German tourists to the Greek island of Crete.
Although the main business was charter flights, a route from Thessaloniki to Athens and Crete was opened. Other domestic routes were opened and Cretan decided to order the Dornier Do-328 for those services but before those could be delivered the airline went bankrupt in June 1995. [1]
