Creekview High School is a public high school located in Canton, GA. The school was opened up in 2006 for their first school year. The high school is directly across the road from "Creekland Middle School". For the first year of the high school establishment, the lone 9th grade resided in one hall of the middle school. The following year, the students moved to the new building across the street as they were joined by the rising freshmen.

[edit] In the Beginning
Creekview High School was originally going to be named "Joseph E. Brown High School". However, once the community found out the future name of their high school, they made it publicly known how much they detested it. They received much publicity, including the highly-influential Channel 2 Action News. Within three weeks, the school board held a meeting to change the name to "Creekview High School".[citation needed]
[edit] Recently
This year, Creekview High welcomed in a new group of freshmen and a whole new definition of school pride. Atlanta's WSB-TV aired the 2007 North Oconee-Creekview game September 28th, with a final score of 22-26 Trojans. Chuck Dowdle calls this one of the best high school games he's seen.
[edit] Academics
This year, Creekview is setting high goals in attendance, math, and literature. The goal for 2007-2008 is to have 95% of the student population with a record of 15 or fewer absences, 85% passing in math, and 92% passing the EOCT in writing as opposed to 2006-2007's 90%.
