Credence Systems
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Credence Systems Corporation (NASDAQ: CMOS), is a manufacturer of test equipment for the global semiconductor industry, with a major focus on solving specific challenges facing the fast growing consumer-driven semiconductor markets. Founded in 1978, it is publicly traded on the Nasdaq stock market under the symbol CMOS. It is headquartered in Milpitas, California, and is established in twenty countries.
Customers include integrated device manufacturers (IDMs), wafer foundries, outsource assembly and test (OSAT) suppliers and fabless chip companies. To meet these customers’ varied needs, along with their ever changing and expanding challenges, Credence offers three key product lines:
Sapphire Platform[1]
Sapphire features a suite of high-performance instruments that enable breakthrough innovations in critical components (e.g., HDMI) of next-generation computing/communications/consumer products. Scalable performance to ≥6.4 GHz, field reconfigurability, and industry-leading throughput via a multisite-optimized architecture—-a few reasons why leading IC manufacturers rely on Sapphire to meet today’s exacting lifecycle and profitability requirements.
Diamond Platform
Diamond provides the investment flexibility needed to meet customers’ varying needs across multiple application types, offering seamless scalability from low-to-high (>3000) pin counts. The 40-slot Diamond 40[2] features RF/mixed-signal/digital/analog capabilities for highly integrated SoC/SiP testing, while the Diamond 10[3] is a high-throughput, ultra-compact system that easily scales from desktop debug to high-volume, multisite production.
ASL Series
With an installed base of over 3000 systems worldwide, the production-proven ASL Series provides high-throughput device testing with the cost-performance advantages of a small footprint and precise scalability. ASL 3000RF[4] (ideal for wireless PA/FEM test) offers the widest range of built-in EVM routines (WiMax, 802.11n). ASL 1000[5], significantly enhanced with true multisite capabilities, is the tool of choice in analog/discrete markets.
