Creative Coalition

The Creative Coalition is a nonprofit, (501(c)(3)) nonpartisan, politically-active group formed of members of the American film entertainment industry.

The organization was founded in 1989 by Ron Silver. Mr. Silver consulted attorney Joseph Califano at Dewey & Balantine and business manager and accountant Abe Altman. He received all the paperwork to begin the organization. He consulted with a few colleagues who then joined Mr. Silver in the signing of the certificate of incorporation as Board of Directors.

According to the certificate of incorporation of The Creative Coalition, dated 03.13.90, the initial board of directors were Stephen Collins, Jaynne Keyes, Meir Ribalow and Ron Silver.

Notable members have included Ron Reagan, Blair Brown, Michael J. Fuchs, Alec Baldwin, Joe Pantoliano and Tim Daly. The coalition addresses both industry related issues, as well as general social issues. The group educates leaders in the arts community on issues of public importance, specifically in the areas of First Amendment rights, arts advocacy and public education.
