The Crow name for the Crazies is Blue Bird Mountains http://www.sweetgrasscounty.com/recreation/CRAZYMTS.htm

Crazy Horse (Lakota: Thašųka Witko, literally "His-Horse-is-Crazy") is Oglala Lakota Sioux http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crazy_horse.

Over 30 years I've heard a half a dozen "legends" as to how the Crazy Mountains got their name. They're probably all wrong.
