This page is quite biased towards the open-source community. I don't have time to paraphrase, but maybe it should have some info from his official bio:

What's his "official bio?" Please see my edits to this article. I worked at Data General with Mudie, and the biography on Microsoft's Website is, to put it politely (which I do in the article) "inflated." So, before we trust any bio, let's get the facts. If any of the claims I have made are disputed, I know all of the players who will help to set the record straight. I would welcome Mudie's own edits to make his bio more neutral. August 2000, President Clinton named Mundie to the National Security Telecommunications Advisory Committee, which advises White House staff on issues affecting the security of the nations telecommunications infrastructure. In April 2002, Mundie joined the Task Force on National Security in the Information Age to help develop a strategy for using new technologies and information to address new security challenges. In January, 2006, an entry was made to this article because the external link below, Mundie biography at Microsoft, gave a biography of Mundie that inflated his resume by his taking credit for developing the first Disk Operating System at Data General and for directing the advanced development facility for Data General at Research Triangle Park, North Carolina. In June, 2006, because of the information posted on Wikipedia regarding Mundie's resume, his biography was updated to reflect more accurate information. The resume was updated by an employee working for Mundie, and Mundie did not contact the author of the entry directly to discuss these changes or explain the original misstatements.

It doesn't belong in the article as it is definitely not encyclopedic in tone, but it might still be useful for other editors as reference. Warrens 20:45, 25 June 2006 (UTC)

I did not intend to make this entry anonymous, and I am the author of the entry. I agree that putting it on the talk page for others to read is both useful and more appropriate. JJ 19:52, 25 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Stubbed

I removed most of the "biographical" information in this article. WP is not a vehicle for expressing the outrage of a small group of people about the general direction a Microsoft exec happened to fart at five years ago. I understand the use of the term "viral" in the same sentence as "GPL" is right up there with stuffing kittens in small glass bottles, but this "biography" needs to be that; otherwise please move the article to "Evil things Craig Mundie said" or create a special category called "Things that give Slashbots ulcers" and attach it to that.

Oh, and for all the outrage and mention of Stallman popping a coronary there were no references at all, which is surprising at best. It would be useless to attach POV and FACT tags to everything. --klaus
