[edit] Polio-related osteomyelitis?

While doing some research for List of polio survivors Johnson's name came up. At least one source does mention him overcoming "a form of polio called osteomyelitis," when he was six.[1] But the problem is that osteomyelitis is an infection of bone (or bone marrow), usually caused by bacteria. I have been unable to find any evidence that osteomyelitis can be caused by poliovirus or is is in anyway “polio-related“.[2] Therefore, I have removed the "polio-related" bit from the article.
