Talk:Craig Gass

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"...which Craig inherited" is totally nebulous. WHAT exactly did he inherit? Is he deaf now? You've got to be more specific. Moncrief 05:16, Apr 21, 2005 (UTC)

Re: Your comments on my talk page. I do understand what "inherit" means. The problem was the structure of the sentence you wrote:

>His father was born with all his hearing but lost it later in life, which Gass inherited.

"which Gass inherited" is an unclear modifier here, as what is being modified is neither a disease nor a condition (deafness, cancer, etc). I clarified the phrasing. Moncrief 05:35, Apr 21, 2005 (UTC)

Would you please read this sentence out loud:

> His father was born with all his hearing but lost it later in life, which Craig was fortunate to inherit.

"which" appears after "lost it later in life." Therefore, "which Craig was fortunate to inherit" modifies the entire sentence INCLUDING THE PART THAT SAYS HIS FATHER LOST HIS HEARING. Moncrief 05:50, Apr 21, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Radio Appearance (April 2007): Providence, RI

On April 16, 2007, Craig Gass appeared on the Giovanni & Kim Morning Show on 92 PRO-FM (Providence, RI) in order to promote a series of local shows he would be performing during the following weekend. Rather than telling the audience who he was, the radio crew had him pretend to be Tracy Morgan (one of Craig's now famous impressions). "Tracy" claimed that he was in town to film a new Adam Sandler film, and offered to bring several members of the cast along with him the next day. Several times during the broadcast, "Tracy" also mentioned that his good friend, Craig Gass, was performing the following weekend.

The following day (April 17), "Tracy" again appeared on the radio program, this time claiming that he had managed to drag Adam Sandler along with him. Shortly there after, a sleepy sounding "Adam" came on the air, discussed various past and future projects, and even composing a song (about "poo") for Kimberly Zandy, one of the morning show hosts. Several fans called in and had various questions answered by both "Adam" and "Tracy".

On the third day (April 18), Craig stepped up his performance. About half-way through the morning show, "Tracy" again made an appearance. This time, however, he'd managed to bring along Adam Sandler, Al Pachino, Christopher Walken, and Tom Arnold (who tagged along, but was not actually invited). All throughout the remainder of the morning show, Craig performed each of these personalities seamlessly, even going so far as to have multiple characters interact with each other over several minutes. A very similar show aired on Thursday, with all of the "stars" returning and then ending with "Walken" and "Pachino" telling a series of dirty jokes.

By now, the listening audience was in a frenzy, and local news venues were calling the radio station relentlessly in an effort to find out where all of the stars were staying. Many were suspicious, realizing the impossibility of so many people fitting into the local radio station's tiny sound stage but Craig's performance was so good that even the most skeptical began to believe. At one point, a call came into the station from someone who claimed that they'd seen Tom Arnold chasing women around the local mall, but otherwise nobody had actually caught a glimpse of any of the actors. Yet few questioned this because several real movies had been filmed in town, with the actors usually able to keep a low profile. In the end, all of the attempts by reporters and loyal listeners to find the visiting stars were thwarted.

On Friday (April 20), about an hour into the morning show, Craig came on as himself and proceeded to explain that the last four days were all part of a hoax to promote his upcoming shows - and that none of the famous people overheard in the past week had ever actually been in the studio. He then went into detail about how he came upon his skill to so accurately duplicate famous voices and even did some of his favorite impressions of Sam Kinison and Gene Simmons. At one point during the show, the real Gilbert Gottfried called in (he was also in town for a show at that time). Craig proceeded to impersonate Gilbert, who's only comment was "boy, that's annoying!" The remainder of the morning show was devoted to caller question & answer about what had happened over the past week and information about Craig's scheduled appearances the following weekend. - YoShie66 13:38, May 31, 2007 (EST)

I think the Official Web page link for Craig Gass is incorrect. Here is one that is more helpful: http://www.myspace.com/craiggass —Preceding unsigned comment added by 130.76.32.16 (talk) 14:54, August 27, 2007 (UTC)
