[edit] detailed fair-use rationale

Primarily, the description in place does not meet the substance of a detailed fair-use rationale (see: Help:Image_page#Fair_use_rationale. Secondly, this image is in violation of fair-use policy item number one. Namely, that images used under fair-use could not be replaced with free-use alternatives. These are solely snapshots of toys, photos that could be taken by any other contributor and re-licensed as free-use of some fashion. Which brings me to my third point, if Steerpike (talk · contribs) is the photographer of these images, he could re-license them under CC, GFDL, or PD and then they wouldn't fall under fair-use anymore. — pd_THOR | =/\= | 17:36, 16 December 2006 (UTC)

So, taking a picture of some toys I own and putting it on Wikipedia is no violation of copyright? --Steerpike 19:08, 16 December 2006 (UTC)
If you've taken the pictures, but are maintaining all of your rights to the it, then Wikipedia may not use your images. If you elected to re-license your images as, say, CC or GFDL, then we could use your images freely on Wikipedia, but you wouldn't have as much control over them as you do maintaining all rights reserved? Does that make sense? — pd_THOR | =/\= | 19:22, 16 December 2006 (UTC)
Oh I don't mind. It's the fact that the toys might be subject to some sort of copyright that I was wondering about. In that case I'll happily relicense it. --Steerpike 11:43, 17 December 2006 (UTC)
