Crazy Climber 2 is a coin-op arcade game released in 1988 by Nihon Bussan Ltd. (Nichibutsu) and is a sequel to the original Crazy Climber.
[edit] Description
Similar to the original, the player controls a climber who must climb the outside of tall buildings (from street level to the roof). The climber ascends the building by using the window sills as steps. The player controls this action via two eight-direction joysticks, one for each of the climber's hands. The machine presents hazards to the climber as he ascends, including falling bricks and girders, residents leaning out of their windows to drop objects on the climber, and a King Kong-like ape obstructing the path. Completion of the climb results in the climber being transported via helicopter to the base of the next building.
The climber can be blocked from climbing higher by closed windows, since he uses the window sills to ascend each floor and cannot use a closed window to climb. If a window closes on both hands, the climber will fall to the street below. Getting hit by a falling object (unless both hands are secured on a window sill) will cause the climber to fall as well.
