The Craigieburn Football Club is an Australian rules football club currently affiliated with the Essendon District Football League. The club is located in the township of Craigieburn on the northern outskirts of Melbourne.
After trying unsuccessfully in 1970 to enter the Riddell District Football League, the club successfully re-applied again in 1971.
The club lost its first twenty-one consecutive games, finally tasting success on May 3rd 1973. The Reserves won their first game in Round 17, August 11th 1973.
The club's first taste of finals was in 1975 with the Seniors, Reserves and Under 17’s all playing in the Preliminary Final. The Seniors and Reserves were defeated by Wallan and the Under 17’s won, eventually losing the Grand Final. The club's first premiership success came in 1979.
Craigieburn Football Club played in the Riddell District Football League until the end of the 2000 season. Given the rapidly expanding population in the Craigieburn area, it was time to leave this rural league and join a metropolitan league. The club the successfully entered the Essendon District Football League in 2001 and occupies a place in the strong "A" Grade Section.
