[edit] Playing career

Nelthorpe was born in Doncaster and attended Edlington Secondary School, playing his youth football with Edlington WMC, before moving on to Brodsworth Welfare and Frickley Athletic. He joined Doncaster Rovers as a trainee, making his debut (as a substitute) against Luton Town on 7 May 2005.

He came on during Rovers' 3-2 Johnstones Paint Trophy victory over Crewe Alexandra at the Keepmoat Stadium on February 13, 2007 and made an impact.

On 10 January 2008 he joined Halifax Town on a one month loan deal.[1]
