Craft of the Lost Art is the first album by Jneiro Jarel with his project group 'Shape Of Broad Minds'. The group is comprised of two members, Jneiro Jarel's characters and Jawwaad Taylor. The group is actually make-believe, with Jarel really playing several members of the group, (much like Kool Keith under the Dr. Octagon alias, or Madlib and his Yesterday's New Quintet alias), but the schizophrenic nature of the group allows Panama Black, an MC form Atlanta, to explore alongside them. The album is mostly experimental and has created comparisons between Jarel and Madlib as a result of this style of beat making.
The members of the group include:
- Jawwaad Taylor- multi-instrumentalist(Keyboards/trumpet), Northside Houston, TX native-true and living human being!
- Rocque One(Jarel)- a psychedelic West Coast singer- (Vocals)
- Dr. Who Dat?(Jarel)- a beat-digger and studio maestro- (DJ/producer)
- Panama Black- MC from Atlanta- (MC/Vocals)
The album also includes cameos from MF Doom, Count Bass D, Stacy Epps and John Robinson.
