Crab Smasher were formed in 2002 by Grant Hunter, Nicholas French and Chloe Russell. They are currently based in Newcastle, Australia. Their music is best described as an amalgamation of ambience, noise and electro pop characterized by frequently shifting movements of improvised sound. They utilise traditional and electronic instrumentation as well as found objects, toys, and tape manipulations.
