Does anyone else want to remove the black borders from the color boxes. They are ugly fugly.--Dacium (talk) 06:49, 12 May 2008 (UTC)

I absolutely agree. I am actually in the process of creating icons for the IPL teams similar to these: Template:Leagueicon and think it would be good if we made icons for all first-class, List A and domestic Twenty20 teams. I suppose the IPL is a good place to start though. I am a little amateur at the coding side of things though, so I might not be the best at setting up a "cricketicon" page. You mean something like this: Image:Bangalore-IPL.svg. I am all for it. --soum talk 10:19, 12 May 2008 (UTC)
Yes, I have made icons somewhat like your example icon. Here they are:
Chennai:
Deccan:
Delhi:
Kings XI:
Kolkata:
Mumbai:
Rajasthan:
RC Bangalore:

OK, I have put the new icons on the 2008 IPL page by editing the flag template: Template:Cr-IPL/Flags. If a "cricketicon" template is ever created, they can be inserted there...assuming that other people agree that they look OK. Juwe (talk) 18:25, 12 May 2008 (UTC)
I like these. One thing though. Isn't the red in KXIP jersey more pinkish? --soum talk 18:32, 12 May 2008 (UTC)
I tried to make the colours as accurate as possible by downloading official team logos (more useful in some cases than others) and pictures of people wearing the various shirts in reasonable lighting. Then I used photoshop to tell me what the RGB values for the colours were. Unfortunately there don't seem to be many sites which sell IPL team shirts and have useful pictures showing the exact colours. Regarding the Kings XI colours, I think I actually got that one right. I just used the shade of red that exists on the team logo (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:KingsXI.jpg). One thing about the Kings XI clothing is that the pants are essentially grey, while the shirt is grey in parts and gradually blurs from grey to the shade of red on the logo. As such, I took this shade of red as the one to use. Juwe (talk) 18:49, 12 May 2008 (UTC)
