[edit] Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard
The following was a "debate" I had with User:Aidan Work. His response to my request for him to show evidence for the BIG FAT LIE he said about me on the WP:AN was to delete all reference to it on his user page, and to delete all reference to this on MY talk page, and then to delete his entry from the WP:AN!
[edit] Information from my profile.
I see you added my name to this page. Please see my reply. Also, I have notified the adminstrators of your "People I Hate" section. Camillus 23:54, 11 December 2005 (UTC)
Camillus, I see that you have put some information from my profile on the Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard. What is your reasoning behind this? - (Aidan Work 00:01, 12 December 2005 (UTC))
- I have removed the section from your user page on the Administrators noticeboard as I believe there is a policy against this. However, I have left a note directing the administrators to your "People I Hate" section. Hate-speech is not allowed on Wikipedia. I propose we let the administrators decide.
- Also, who are the plural "critics" I have been attacking, on "their" talk pages, as you state in your entry on the noticeboard? Camillus 00:11, 12 December 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Critics of Roman Catholicism.
You have made attacks on a number of critics of Roman Catholicism, especially on me, because I admire Ian Paisley of Ulster, & for the fact that I am very strongly sympathetic towards the Democratic Unionist Party. I have always been extremely anti-republican in sentiment, because of republicanism's associations with Sinn Féin/I.R.A.'s terrorist campaign, ZANU-PF's campaign of barbarism in Zimbabwe, & apartheid in pre-1994 South Africa. I hope that this answers your question. - (Aidan Work 00:25, 12 December 2005 (UTC))

- Re your "reply" - "You have made attacks on a number of critics of Roman Catholicism, especially on me,... I hope that this answers your question."
- No, Aidan, I'm afraid it doesn't answer my question at all. What other critics of Roman Catholicism have I "attacked". Please show some evidence, although I know you won't be able to, because what you said is a plain, BIG FAT LIE. Camillus 00:31, 12 December 2005 (UTC)
I'm still waiting for your reply to my request for you to provide evidence of me "attacking" other "critics of Roman Catholicism". I imagine you'll be having some trouble with this. Camillus 01:04, 12 December 2005 (UTC)
- I'm STILL waiting for your "evidence" as mentioned above.... Camillus 01:10, 12 December 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Camillus, go & have a wee dram.
Camillus, instead of getting into petty arguments, why don't you go ahead & have a wee dram of Scots whisky. I'm sure that a famous brand such as Famous Grouse or Glenfiddich will do. Then you'll feel a lot better I'm sure. - (Aidan Work 01:12, 12 December 2005 (UTC))
[edit] Your answer? Your Vandalism!
Oh well, Aidan, I see your answer to my legitimate request of you to provide evidence of me "attacking" (plural) "critics" of Roman Catholicism is to delete the whole discussion. You have that right, it's your user talk page, however, I will record the fact that you refused to prove your BIG FAT LIE about me on the WP:AN.
- AND I will record your vandalism of my talk page, by deleting sections of it, on the WP:AN. Camillus 01:42, 12 December 2005 (UTC)
Camillus, a lot of what you've said about me was a load of rubbish. You wasted your time in posting it anyway! - (Aidan Work 01:44, 12 December 2005 (UTC))
- Aidan, what specifically have I said that was "rubbish". Please give an example of anything I said which was not factual? Camillus 02:12, 12 December 2005 (UTC)
Camillus, for a start, you accused me of promoting hatred of Irish people, when in fact, my hatred is towards the subhumans from Sinn Féin/I.R.A., who are among the most bigoted people on the planet. - (Aidan Work 02:15, 12 December 2005 (UTC))
- Aidan, I'm afraid this just won't do. Please show evidence of any time when I accused you of "promoting hatred of Irish People"? Camillus 02:23, 12 December 2005 (UTC)
Camillus, please stop wasting your time. It is pathetic. Go & do something useful like playing solitaire. Stop bothering me with your petty remarks. - (Aidan Work 02:25, 12 December 2005 (UTC))
- Aidan, I take that as proof that you cannot provide any evidence of the charge. That's all I need to know. Camillus 02:28, 12 December 2005 (UTC)
Mr. Work was subsequently banned from editing for 24 hours for his vandalism of my talk page, Jtdirl's talk page, AND THE WP:AN ITSELF!'
[edit] Hey Camillus
I banned that 217 vandal AFTER he left the abuse on User:Aidan Work's page. Cheers Moriori 02:45, 12 December 2005 (UTC)
Thanks for letting me know about the vandalism to my page by that anonymous nutcase. - (Aidan Work 06:18, 13 December 2005 (UTC))

An RfC has been filed on Aidan Work, you might want to take a look. --Kiand 15:39, 13 December 2005 (UTC))
[edit] Legal advice on defamation on User pages
(Copied fom my user talk page -DES) Hi DES, me again. This time I want to ask your advice about an RfC I've been involved in. It concerns a user who has been inserting highly POV material into various articles, as well as some rather wild comments on Talk pages. He has also made complaints against a number of users (including me), which he has not been able to back up with evidence. However, the main point of the RfC is the hateful remarks on his user page, where he lists under "People I Hate" - "The Nazi Pope of Rome,Pope Benedict XVI, who is the pointed-hatted Nazi gorilla in Rome & the current Antichrist", "Homosexuals and Transexuals", and "Jim Bolger, the low-life scumbag" (Bolger was New Zealand's PM), among others. The question is: what is Wikipedia's policy regarding personal attacks on User pages? The user in question cites "freedom of speech". Is this acceptable? If you can find time, your comments would be much appreciated.
Camillus 20:42, 16 December 2005 (UTC)
- The relevant policies are No personal attacks and civility. Strictly speaking, "Freedom of speech" does not apply, because this is not a government, nor a puplic forum. Wikipedia is a private project, albiet one that generally welcomes public participation. Its organizers have the right to set whatever policies they please on what speech is and is not acceptable on wikipedia, and to enforce those policies, as long as no laws are broken. Actual defamation can be illegal, or at elast subject to civil suit, but mere name calling and expressions of opnion, however nasty, are not strictly speaking defamation. An RfC is a proper way to deal with this sort of junk, possibly followed by an arbitration hearing. A mention on WP:ANI might be appropriate, too. Thanks for calling this to my attention. DES (talk) 21:11, 16 December 2005 (UTC)
(BTW, the Redcly???.jpg images have been removed from the relevant articles, and can be deleted).
(BTW2, your talk page is becoming rather HUGE. Maybe time to archive?)

- Thanks for your reply DES. I see you have added a comment to the user's RfC. Er - how did you know who it was? Or what that be letting out a secret about the mystical powers of admins? ;) I guess you noticed from the RfC that the "People I Hate" section had been removed pending the RfC from the user's page by another admin. Camillus 21:33, 16 December 2005 (UTC)
- It was easy, and required no admin power. After I posted my response on your user talk page, i clicked on "User contributions" and filtered for the wikipedia namespace. This would have shown me any RFC comments you posted, but before that I cane to an edit of yours on WP:AN and reading that made the user involved clear enough. You can alwasy see what any user has been doing on wikipedia this way, unless the user uses alternate IDs or edits not-logged-in. DES (talk) 21:38, 16 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Merry Christmas!
Camillus, it is already Christmas Day over here in New Zealand. I had a cool Christmas dinner. I will be watching the Queen's annual Christmas message tonight. Are you? I will then be watching all 3 Crocodile Dundee movies back to back on Prime T.V. Have you ever seen the movie called 'Waking Ned Devine'? That is a real laugh. - (Aidan Work 02:50, 25 December 2005 (UTC))
[edit] Queen Elizabeth II's 2005 Christmas message.
Camillus, did you see the broadcast of the Queen's message? I definitely saw it at the end of the 6 pm news on T.V. over here. It was also broadcast through BBC World as well. - (Aidan Work 03:02, 27 December 2005 (UTC))
