[edit] Asthma
I've had asthma all of my life, and it has progressively worstened over time. From what I'm told, it was severe when I was very young, almost claiming my life several times, combined with a case of sleep apnea. I was active in sports during my youth and adolescence, including soccer, baseball, and marching band. Over time, however, I became less and less able to be as active as I'd have preferred. I stopped playing baseball and soccer, and my activity limits eventually prevented me from competing as a marching trumpet player. I learned how to play vibraphone and performed with the percussion section of the band during my senior year of high school, rarely participating in parades.
Today, I am on an exhaustive asthma therapy regimen. I take Advair twice daily along with Singulair once daily, both as preventive treatments. I also use Albuterol on an as-needed basis, although its side-effects sometimes prove to be enough of a deterrent such that I force myself to "wait it out". Because my asthma is often irritated due to my allergy to cats, and because I live with three adorable and precious members of the feline persuasion, I am also on a once-daily dosage of Loratadine, which works extremely well to offset my allergies. Only when I forget to take any of the above routine, "maintenance" drugs am I presented with a need to use my "emergency" inhaler.
[edit] Bentley's Ironic Similarities
It seems that Bentley from the Sly Cooper series could've been based on me. The following paragraph sums up this irony, all of which also apply to me:
- This turtle, a trusted friend of the game's title character, is an expert in computers and other electronic devices. He's also quite well read, often stating "I read about this...." when deducing something new and alien to the team. It is revealed in the second game that he has asthma. In the third game he is revealed to be allergic to tomatoes.
[edit] Web Presence
The following are links to my profiles or about pages on various Web sites. The goal of this section is to build a comprehensive list of places where I am or have been active.
