Before I edit this page, I wanted to make sure there would be no objection...the GE GENESIS series of locomotives are not cowl unit locos, they are a whole new design from Krupp and GE that is basically a monocoque. You can read it online here: [1] or, if you have access to the journal, Warner, David C (June 1993). "AMD103: Powering Amtrak Into the 21st Century". Passenger Train Journal 24, No. 6 (186): 23. ISSN 0160-6913.  So before I take down the photo of the P42 and references to it (and potentially edit the cab unit article) I wanted to make sure this wasn't going to be a controversial edit. Your input is requested. Thanks! VCA 12:00, 30 September 2007 (UTC)

Actually, never mind. In light of a patent I located on the GE GENESIS locos, US patent 5535680, they are confirmed to be of monocoque design and are in no way cowl unit locos. I will edit this article accordingly. VCA 20:27, 30 September 2007 (UTC)
