The Coventry Crusaders is a Coventry-based basketball team competing in Division 1 of the English Basketball League. They play their home games at the Coventry Sports Centre, alternatively at the North Solihull Sports Centre, and the junior teams play at the The Alan Higgs Centre. Their home colour is mainly blue with green and white sides, and their road uniform consists of mainly white with blue and green sides.
On January 15, 2007, club owner Dip Donaldson formally announced that the Coventry Crusaders were the first team to be accepted into the new British Basketball Association professional league,[1] which was due to commence in November 2007, thus ending a 14-year association with the English Basketball League. However, the league never materialised and the Crusaders renewed their application with EBL Division 1 for the 2007-08 season.
