1. Add yourself to Category:Wikipedians who use StatusBot by adding [[Category:Wikipedians who use StatusBot|your username]] to your userpage.
2. Add Titoxd's template ({{User:Titoxd/Sandbox/Status template/Code|your username}}) on the members' status list at Wikipedia:Counter-Vandalism Unit/Task Force/statustemplate so that your status can be displayed on all the pages where that list is transcluded. Please note that the template should be kept in alphabetical order by username.
   • If you are an admin, you can write {{User:Titoxd/Sandbox/Status template/Code|your username|admin}}
   • If you use IRC, you can write {{User:Titoxd/Sandbox/Status template/Code|your username|irc}}.
   • You can also combine both, if you so desire. Just write {{User:Titoxd/Sandbox/Status template/Code|your username|admin|irc}}; the order of the extra parameters does not matter.
   • Note: It will take a few moments for StatusBot to create your own status page for you at User:StatusBot/Status/your username. Until that page is created, your status will appear as "invalid" (that is, the background will appear red).
3. If you want to mark yourself as busy, follow this link (which will go to [[User:{{your user name}}/Busy]]), and create the page. If that page is not blank, the template will mark you as online but unavailable. If the page is blank, or does not exist, the template's logic will indicate that you are not busy.
4. You can also add a similar template, {{User:Titoxd/Sandbox/Status template|your username}}, on your user page so that your status can be displayed there. (The only difference between the user page template template and the template used in the membership list is that the former contains formatting that prevents multiple copies of it to be placed adjacent to each other.) Alternatively you may add {{User:StatusBot/Template}} to your user page for a status indicator with a different format.
5. You can also add yourself to the pager to be notified in the event of high levels of vandalism, instructions for which can be found on that page.
