I am a baseball researcher (member of SABR since 1982, have been a genealogist since 1978, and have lived in or near Kansas City, Kansas my entire life (which is to say, since 1955). Most of my edits, corrections, and new articles have been and will continue to be about baseball (primarily Negro League baseball and defunct Kansas City teams), local Kansas City history, and other miscellaneous history I have become familiar with due to my genealogical pursuits.
I have initiated the following stubs/articles:
- Kansas City Packers, a team that played two years in the Federal League
- Dobie Moore, a member of the Kansas City Monarchs
- Bonnie Bonnell, an associate of the Three Stooges
- 1942 Colored World Series, in which the Kansas City Monarchs beat the Homestead-Washington Grays
- Toledo Tigers, a one-shot team that played in the Negro National League
- Bill Gatewood, a great Negro League pitcher before the leagues
- 1924 Colored World Series, in which the Monarchs beat Hilldale
Among the articles and stubs to which I've made a significant contribution:
- Baseball-related articles and stubs
- CommunityAmerica Ballpark, home park of the Kansas City T-Bones
- The Eastern Colored League, one of the Negro Leagues
- the Federal League, the last "outlaw" major league, which played 1914-1915.
- The Kansas City Monarchs
- List of Negro League baseball players
- Negro League Baseball
- Negro League Baseball All-Star Game
- The Negro National League 1920-31, the first organized Negro League
- The Union Association, the first "outlaw" major league, in 1884
- Biographies of various Negro League players
- Genealogy-related articles
- Marin Boucher, who was an ancestor of mine
- King's Daughters, seven of whom were ancestors of mine
- The Battle of Seven Oaks, in which another ancestor participated
- Other articles
- Treaty of Tripoli
- Tammy Duckworth
- Patty Larkin and her releases
I also keep an eye on changes made to pages in which I have an interest, and occasionally do cleanup on them.
Not much so far, I admit, but I'm working on it.
