Template talk:Country data Croatia

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

It has been proposed on commons that Image:Flag of Croatia.svg should not be used as an icon but instead of it should be used Image:Flag of Croatia icon.svg.

This is because the ratio of 2:3 is more visible. I think that this change would not lead to mass production of such icon files. Even if such event should happen it would be an advantage for all those flags that couldn't be readable if 1:2 or even more discrepancy ratio is applied.

I hope that for the sake of the icons we could agree on most visible or readable ratio and use 2:3 ratio for all icons, but this is long way into the future.

Croatia should be a starting point.

1:2 ratio is fine. User:Zscout370 (Return Fire) 05:49, 16 February 2008 (UTC)
Why, if 2:3 would be better for the end-users point of view. -- Imbris (talk) 19:22, 16 February 2008 (UTC)
I can still see the checkers in the middle, plus, the main point is the text to the side of the flag. User:Zscout370 (Return Fire) 19:26, 16 February 2008 (UTC)
The template can be modified so that correct text "Croatia" or whatever text appears (like Republic of Croatia, Croatian, Croatian Portal) or whatever text that is needed. I have noticed that almost no one have noticed that users (on commons) suggested usage of 2:3 ratio for better visibility purposes. -- Imbris (talk) 19:38, 16 February 2008 (UTC)
Because as a commons sysop, we just worry if the flag is accurate, not what the other projects want. User:Zscout370 (Return Fire) 19:48, 16 February 2008 (UTC)
Ok. But why don't make this tiny change. If someone should object you can always revert it. The change is currently in place on commons (Template:CRO and Template:HRV). -- Imbris (talk) 19:53, 16 February 2008 (UTC)
